Default Shocks and Struts

Hello,

I知 about to put in new struts and shocks on my 91 Z28. I知 a college student on a budget planning on installing them myself, and I知 curious what brand would be best to go with. I致e already checked out Monroe, Gabriel Ultra, and just heard about KYB. Will I need an adaptor kit to make it work?

Also I知 considering installing sway bars, any advice there?

Thanks!

KYB is the best out of the three listed. Gabriel's are pretty much useless and Monroes aren't a whole lot better. I have Monroe Sensa-Tracs on my Z28 but I only bought them because I got a good deal on them.

Since you have a Z28 the sway bars are already plenty beefy enough.

Go with the KYB struts & shocks the other are for your grandmother's car.

i had the sensa-tracs on my RS. It made it through inspections, but thats all they were good for. Not a very good shock IMO. Ive heard several good things about the KYB brand, however.

Honestly I don't have a whole lot of bad stuff to say about the Monroes. It gives a good ride, a little stiff, but the car handles extremely well. I got all 4 for under $100, so I'm not complaining.

well look at it this way. If your into takin twistys quick and smooth, dont do sensa-tracs. If your just looking for a stock/factory replacement. Those would work fine.
