So Ive been away from this forum for a long time. I used to have a 96 3.8 but i always loved irocs and always wanted to own one. Im no stranger to camaros but would like some advise. Tomorrow im looking at a 1989 iroc tpi 5.7 auto. He says that its in need for a tune up but not sure what he actually means. His definition of a tune up could be a engine rebuild. Im perfectly able to work on cars and currently working as a tech for a gm dealer so I got an advantage, but I could still use some help. What should i be looking for? What are some 3rd gen problems to look after? Also what are the options for a 89 tpi iroc? Im looking for numbers like rear end gear ratio, hp numbers, weight, any info really is greatly appreciated. I also plan to do a t56 swap from a lt1 I heard its possible.
