Heater core replacement
Hi all, First post and would like some tips on replacing the heater core on my 1992 Heritage V8. I got the old one out already but the new one I got doesn't fit in the bracket. I went back to store and that's the "only model they have available". So my question is this; Anyone else do one of these and have the same issue? And if so, how did you go about getting around it? I just bought this car from a friend and the heater core was the "only known issue" but I'm already doubting I got the whole story.... eh, it's a project. Thanks, Jaycon

I found out a few tidbits on it so far... I found a heater core that will fit into the existing bracket without issue so that part is done and the new core is in but I'm seeing some things that have me quite confused. Looks like a few of the coolant lines have been plugged by a bolt and clamps. Specifically the smaller diameter line to the heater core. Now I understand it went bad and the guy was trying to stop the leak into the cab but now I have no clue where these hoses go to or how they connect. Found 2 more hoses that look like he did the same thing with them. One hose comes off a "T" in the radiator line on the passenger side that goes to the right side of the heater core. The smaller diameter hose for the heater core is also capped/plugged and the third looks like it comes out of the back of the block. The radiator line off the top of the driver's side doesn't feed into the water pump like I though but has instead been routed into the block if that helps. Does anyone have a diagram of the hose routing for the heating/cooling system? Specifically where the heater core fits in. Thanks!
