I want to put all new gauges in since most of mine arent functioning

Why aren't your gauges functioning? Even after my swap, I have every single gauge operating as it should.

they weren't working before the new swap... i think the PO messed them up, i have fuel lvl and batt, and thats all... tach "works" but it's so far off based on the thirdgen calculations that i dont trust it... i just keep it under 55 since i have a 1:1 final from trans and a 4:10 rear, wednesday i'm swapping back to the 2.73 ring and pinion

well, hang on a minute. If you are swapping the dash cluster for a custom look, I get that...but you'll still need to figure out the sending units and wiring regardless of what cluster is in your dash. If you have fuel & tach...you're almost home. Oil pressure....wire spade comes from firewall close to the distributor. Buy $14 sending unit and thread into back of block.....there is a plug there, you just need a brass fitting if it isn't there already....Coolant temp sending unit is in the head on the drivers side around middle of the head. the wire loom comes from by the brake booster. I don't know what that sending unit costs. probobly cheap. Tach is connected to the white ignition wire, if it is directly spliced and not run from the coil wiring assembly.

i had issues with the printed circuit board on my gauges. certain bumps made it short until one day it wouldnt self correct. i had the gauges and dash apart so many times and never found the issue, so i just went with aftermarket gauges. i was eventually going to get one of these setups when i move to the interior http://www.classicdash.com/shopping/...89/Auto-Meter/

all the sending units will be replaced cause I want to make sure they're working right, the oil sending unit didnt work right so i replaced it with a mechanical unit, the temp gauge was the same, I need to replace the speedo cable cause it touched the header and melted the housing and we pulled it out so i'll get a new one along with the speedometer, the tach is off, like ive heard is common... so everything will be replaced completely
