I have a 92 camero rs and my lights on dash are on the enegine will turn but wont run, I have removed the wire from battery and put it back on, and still nothing I have also tryed the door locks and nothing I also tryed putting it in D and N and try to crack it but the engine still turns but wont crack, I have a key chip and cleaned it but nothing and I have no blown fuses.. anyone have any ideas lol..
Hmm. Security systems always seem to cause problems. I feel you, man.
I can't really think of much, after what you've tried. You're sure that all your connections, including battery terminals and the like, are good and tight?
If so, it'll take someone more knowledgable than I to help you, I'm afraid.

The VATs is system is looking for the resistance in your key. Check out youtube for how too videos. You can swap in your key cylinder, or you can measure the resistance of your old key and buy a blank with that resistor and have it cut to match your new key.
The other option is to eliminate the VATs system buy adding in a permanent resistor. Again see youtube for how too.

Guys, starter was starting to make noise. Was waiting till payday to get a new one. Today it wouldn't start. Turn key and it is just dead. No clicks, no crank. Got a new bench tested starter. Same problem. I'm thinking I have a security system issue that just surfaced at the same time the starter went bad. I cleaned resistor and reader in ignition switch with iso alcohol. Used spare key. Car won't start. All electrical works. So I don't believe it is a connection. Any ideas? I'm stumped right now.
