91 z28 running rough
Hey guys hoping someone might have some advice for me. I'm new to the camaro world, just bought a 91 that was running rough. Had 2 codes on it, one for the EGR and one that said fuel pump low or high voltage. Smelled pretty rich. Don't have a gas pressure gauge but when I depressed the Schrader at the test port it didn't seem like much pressure at all. Replaced both EGR and fuel pump but still running like crap. Doesn't smell as rich anymore. Takes a few tries to start but it will start and stay running. Idling around 800 which seems fine, its just running pretty rough. Anybody run into something like this?

Not knowing the service history, I would look into giving it a tune up... distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires. You'll also want to check your fuel pressure with a gauge to verify your pressure regulator is good. Remove the vacuum hose from the regulator, if gas is in there, the regulator is bad. With the engine running, and vac hose connected to the regulator, look at the gauge reading and then remove the hose. The pressure pressure should jump 5-7 psi. Again with the vac hose connected, under a load (giving throttle), fuel pressure should drop by only a little. Another thing you may have is a clogged fuel filter. That should keep you busy for a few minutes!
