454 block with XN stamp?

454 block with XN stamp?
My friends in the Corvette forum didn't know.
454 Block 14015445 with XN stamp?
I am looking at a block that my engine builder thinks was never fired.
The pad is stamped 67914 and the center pad above timing cover is T0125XN. Also painted blue which I thought was odd if it's true it was never run. See pics. I am curious about the date and XN suffix. Its a newer block with the GM logo 7.4 cast in the side. Casting 14015445 was a 1975-87 truck 454. On the surface of things, one would think that the XN code would stand for a 1968 396, 275 hp, truck engine.
Now stop thinking cars & trucks for a moment and switch your mind over to boats. How does the XN code referring to a 1977-79 454 Mercruiser grab you? Makes more sense now, eh.

AH HA! That's it! Thanks. I was trying to think outside the box and thought maybe a engine for a back up generator. Still ok for street though right? No difference with it being a marine block? I'm assuming no but you know what happens when you assume...

Do you have just the bare block, a short block, or complete engine?
The block is the same casting as what would have been put into a truck, it just had an alternate destiny.
Compared to the truck engine, the complete marine engine would have a different cam, core plugs, intake and exhaust manifolds, and maybe water pump.
If what you have is a never run engine, or never assembled bare block, then that would have been an over the counter item bought at a Merc dealer and then it just sat. If it was run/used, then it came out of a boat.

also look for a small triangular symbol on it somewhere thiat would mean it is a triple nickle block just means its more rust proof the old drag race guys love them for heat dispersion all in all all parts should bolt up to it just like any other engine you have
