305 help!!!!, bogs out!!
hello again , you've probably noticed I've been posting a lot and I have been because I'm a noob... haha but anyway, my 305 in my Camaro right now bogs out at around 55 mph when you really get on it from a stop. So like I said you'll be going around 5 mph and then if you punch it, once it reaches around 55, it bogs out and has nothing, no power, then if you let off for half a sec, and give her again its fine. Is this because my stock 2 barrel quadrajet carb cant keep up with fuel supply and the bowls are going dry? because I do have 4.56 gears in the rear, if you guys could help me out that id really appreciate it! thanks!!!
(P.S yes its getting motor swapped but I'm just curious)

When working right, the 2 bbl will keep up with demand, otherwise GM wouldn't have used it. A 4 bbl just lets the engine breathe better, which is why the performance boost. I would first check to make sure your choke is opening up all the way once the engine heats up. If not, that's one problem. Also make sure your air cleaner isn't dirty or restricted in any way. If those check out, then you can start to tackle fuel supply, like the fuel pump not keeping up or a low float bowl setting. Has the carb ever been rebuilt? That could do wonders if it hasn't been. I'd suggest you ditch the 2 bbl setup and swap to a 4 bbl, but I presume that's going to happen with the new engine?

yeah I was going to switch to the 4bbl on the new one, so I was thinking about purchasing one and putting on the 305 for now. to my knowledge, it hasn't been rebuilt, if it was, it was a long time ago before I bought it.
