What suspension kit is best?
I recently bought a 1981 Z/28 with 64K on it. Getting a new drivetrain together for it but I want to upgrade the suspension as well. I'm looking for any kind of feed back on what brand to use. I've looked into the Hotchkis systems and was wondering what else is out there?

Hotchkis is a very good quality product but there are some other brands out there that perform well too. I have the complete suspension kit from Custom Works performance. He makes a lot of parts for our 2nd gens. I have his springs, shocks, sway bars, steering box, steering linkage, upper control arms, bushings, SFC and front subframe braces. He has good customer service and prices. highly recommend

been in the same boat myself - thought i threw a rod when in fact something on the highway punched a hole from the outside and my motor lives!! was looking at the hotchkis myself but the funds are lean.. mine handles pretty well but thats always relative - I did meet a guy who raced these in PA (drove the 77 form RI to SoCal 2 years ago) and he said to put in the heavy duty shocks up front (got them at autozone.. red springs around the shocks) - made a HUGE difference and I had KBY gas shocks with 3k miles in before.. And hotchkis shocks in the rear and some other things i dont recall-
Good read up here on the hotchkis:

Seems like alot of drilling :/
