Very nice! Little details like the heater control lens and backer are what really show later! Is that a new heater core? If it's not pretty new, I'd sure spend the money to put a new one in at this point. Don't ask how I know!

I know it's been a long time for posting anything. I'm horrible with keeping up with these forums. the car is still not done but it's getting close. the nightmare started last year when it was suppose to go back to the body shop to fix the damage from the deer and to paint the whole car. the only reason i was using this specific body shop was, a very close friend worked there and he was going to be the one working on the Camaro. well, he wound up leaving for another shop, so i pulled the car and he was to work on the car at his house. we are now at the final prime coat and block sanding then it's off to paint. it seem like forever. the biggest problem was fitting the aftermarket sheet metal. i wound up having to buy a factory header panel to get the hood and fenders to line up right. in the meantime, i picked up a '69 Chevelle, 350 4 speed. nothing special, just a fun car to drive.

Nice work ! and just what color is that on your car? it looks close to mine .and it is a Dupont Mariner blue with Can-Am White stripes. I know that rebuilds are lets say "interesting" But I like the cars of that era better than the new ones. They seem to have more "style" than the new ones.

Things have been a little quiet on the forum here. hopefully everyone has been busy working on their cars. Happy 4th to everyone. the Z is finally painted. a long process but soon to be back on the road. We had some extreme difficulties with the stripes. I bought the stencil kit from Ground Up, which came from Phoenix Graphics. this kit wasn't even close to the original dimensions on the stripes. we started laying them out and then we took measurements to see where we were and everything was off by a 1/16" . a 1/16" here and a 1/16" there and it adds up. we wound up scrapping everything but the header panel template and laid everything out old school. the gaps and stripes on the stencil was 5/16" and the factory calls for 1/4". you can see what i'm talking about in a couple of the pics. I'm definitely calling Ground Up and complaining, it was a waste of 100 bucks.
