there fine imo. as long as in the rain you dont make huge roosters your fine. only a pissy cop will give you a fit. my dad ran N or L bias ply tires which where probably 15" wide tires. with shackle kit and air shocks. and towed a bass boat with it with out much rubbing. he said they were the 2nd widest bias ply you could drive with. but he had rubbing on the inner well and almost went to tubs.

well its not my daily driver anymore so it doesn't see rain
I could get custom backspacing from cragar but its like $220/wheel or so. Would the 295/50's on a 8" wheel be a little better? is that too much of a width difference to safely run?

Just put on some rubber fender flares from a Jeep.

I was kidding about the "normal" thing. Mine don't stick out quite as much as yours. I used to have N50's, then changed to 295 50's, which are 2 inches narrower and that sank the tires in another inch. My pic shows the old tires. I'm going to be changing to different wheels with slightly more backspacing to bring them in just a little bit more.

Don't cut your axle! It will be a problem, and way more money. Get the correct backspacing, even if you have to wait until you find some used at the price you want. What backspacing do you have now? The most you can get on a 15x10 is a 4.25" backspacing.

well remember when i measured them i got like 2.5-3" BS but none of the 15x10 cragars have that small of a BS. So they must be 3.75 since thats what it says on there site...I think i would need atleast 5" BS to clear the fenders. what about using the 295/50's on a 15x8 wheel? i have seen some people do that before. I don't think that would make too much of a difference though. maybe like 1"

they don't make 15" cragars with a 5" BS so its either get a smaller tire or get a larger wheel like 16 or 17" :/
