rear end id
hello everyone. ive been trying to id my rearend and i am stumped. im not even sure its original to the car or not. its a 70 camaro. the axle code is coc 0528g2. the casing code is 3969340 NF. i dont really care about the date but i just really want to know if its a camaro or a nova rearend. i also really want to know if its an 8.5 or an 8.2. It looked original because it had atleast a 1/4 inch of mud encasing it, but i dont know. it also says gm 69 on it if that helps. and the cover is smooth with an offset bump. no upside down v
thanks for your help

If it looks like mine, and has the little cast squared corners at the 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions like mine, then it's probably an original 2nd gen 8.5" rearend.

Thank you. It does look a lot like yours but im still not completely convinced. The 8.5 came out in 71 but my rearend looks like its never been touched. But yet it looks more like an 8.5. I found out that it had 2.73 gears in it through the number, but it doesn't tell me the size.

Maybe this add on nasty Z28 will help Chevy Camaro Rear Axle Information & Restoration It looks like a 10 bolt 8.5" corporate rear end I just changed mine, appears we both need to get the brake line mounted down
