Default Hood Pin Q and project moving along again

Been away for a while. Had my project stalled in the garage for a few years as I was building my business. Currently the car is at a body shop getting some final work done then primer and paint. Can't wait to see it all one color and it should give me the push to get her done this year. I figure I'm not getting any younger.

I am looking for ideas on where and how to fabricate a bracket to place the hood pins a little further back on the hood. If I use the standard location the pin looks too far forward to me and looks off. I was thinking about fabricating a new support that I can use some other holes to bolt it to and move the hood pin back about 3-4". It is a fiberglass hood. I was thinking square stock and welding ends on, possible angle if needed.

Pulled this picture off google images. (if it shows up) I want to relocate it back a bit.

Either a piece of flat stock mounted to the radiator core support, or a bracket welded to the radiator support bars, or nifty billet support bars that have slotted holes.

Looks like this installed, and offer a range of pin mounting positions. These would be my vote.

Interesting. Thanks. I did not find one of those on my searches. That would same me a lot of time. Where did you find that?

I was going to try and fabricate something like this and make a mirror image.

That would work too, depends on the look you're going for.
The bars in the first pic I put are available on ebay, but it looks like the slots aren't open all the way through.
I had found a couple of different open slot sets, now I can't seem to find them again.

OK Thanks! They look good, I just wonder since it is in the stock location, the pin needs to be along that same line and on the 2nd gens you have those valleys in the hood. I want to try to keep it centered in the valleys. If I mount it as close down to the radiator as possible in the first slot that may work. I go to work on it tomorrow so I will see if it will work.
If I fab one I just have to be sure the mate up perfectly!

If you simply drill the radiator core support for the pins they will be the right distance back. No need for a plate. I had mine through the core support for years. There's even two holes by the brace that sit perfectly.
