Converting my heater core hoses

Converting my heater core hoses
Hey guys, in my prettying up attempts and research, I've seen some early GMs replace their rubber heater core hose with Stainless braided and AN fittings. So I went and bought myself some stainless braided hoses, -10 AN and -12 AN for the heater core and some matching fittings for the manifold and water pump.
My questions (finally, I know):
1. Are these the correct AN sizes for the heater core hoses?
2. Is there a pretty way (and how) to connect AN fittings to the Heater core stub-outs?
I have tried pushing the bare end of the braided lines onto the heater core stub and have had nothing to show but sore bleeding fingers from all the pokey braids. Ow.
Any help would be appreciated!

ok, then yes they do make clamps that look like connectors for the hose. get your heat gun out (or the wife's hair dyer) and heat the hose up, can also use a hot pan of water and dip the end in, should slide right on
