69 tail lights on a 68
#2
Define "too much body work". To do it mostly right, to have factory looking trimmed out openings, you'd want to buy a replacement tail panel for a 69. Then clearance (cut) the tail light openings on the 68's tail panels to accept the 69 panel and lights. Cut the 69 panel into two sections and fit the tail light portion on the car so it looks right. Then weld it all in place, body filler to shape and form, and paint. It wouldn't be what I would consider difficult for those of us who have done extensive body work, just a little time consuming. I'd ask why you want to do this, but I presume you must like the look better?
