Heat issue
on a 68 camaro with SBC
I am wanting to swap out my 5 blade flex fan for a 18 inch 7 blade fan & clutch do to it getting hot when running at higher RPMs & speeds. the fan is not pulling in enough air flow. (hence from the fan flexing)
I know there is a big debate on which fan is better, Elect, flex, or clutch. mine is a driver, has stock radiator and shroud one a 350 SBC.
I found at camaros.org that most 1st gens came with an 18 inch fan so when I go to most of vendors pages to find fan and clutch it starts asking for make and year so it never shows a 7 blade only 5.
anyone point me to a page where I can find a hayden or better clutch & fan that would fit. maybe a part # or a direct link to a website or vendors page?

Heartbeat City for the 7-blade fan (OE)
Use clutch fan for a A/C eqt and heavy duty.
If not cooling at speed, above 35 MPH, then its not fan pulling in enough air.
It may be blocking air flow.
Also, could be too high of RPM's, too lean of fuel mixture, clogged rad tubes, or incorrect belt pulleys.

That's not a fan problem. Out on the open road, incoming air overrides what a fan can pull....a fan isn't even needed. I have an electric fan, and don't switch it on unless I'm in traffic. I'd play with your ignition timing, it might be too far one way or the other for what the engine likes.
