Engine swap.. Flywheel Question.
Good day. We have a 68 Camaro originally equipped with a 350. The M21 is a late 70s unit. The Flywheel we have is a 168 tooth unit, with a 13.25" diameter (pn#3973456N) Recently we acquired a 383 stroker motor, built using a 1 piece rear-main seal. The block is a later 90s unit. The crankshaft is an Eagle (Forged Steel) the Flywheel is not compatible with the newer crank. Is there a Flywheel that will allow us to use our existing 11" Clutch, starter and bell-housing?

Sure any flywheel for a one pieces seal will work with the stroker. Their are the heavy ones for a truck or marine use and then the lite weight ones from the firebirds and Camaros from 1986 on up with the one piece seal motors. I know the LT1 later motors use the same bolt pattern.

Yes, physically there is a flywheel that will work. Part of your question though is whether your existing clutch setup will bolt on, meaning, are the pressure plate bolt patterns the same. Good question. First thing you can do is look up your make & model of pressure plate and see if it fits both the 2 piece and one piece seal flywheels. If not, contact the company and ask them, unless you can find a bolt pattern measurement chart. I doubt you are going to be able to find helpful cross reference info by engine/trans application, since there is no such thing as a factory 1990's engine with an M21.
