correct rear end??
I have a 67 with a 406 eng (I don't have any spec's but was told cam was close to racing size..wish I knew more sorry, I'm not a mech) and 4L60 tranny. was told the engine puts out about 500hp at fly wheel..I have not dyno'd yet to see. There'll be no dragging, racing, auto-xing etc. just street driving with occasional burst of speed when I find a straight away..haven't been on xpressway yet to see to ck rpm at 80..
I do not know the gear ratio..BUT.. what rear-end would you guys recommend just with this info I've given?? THANKS!!

My experience with the OE 8.2 inch GM axle, it's been reliable as I have used it bracket racing for six years I had it.
This was using a 3.73:1 gear, 10-28.5 slicks with a 3200 lb. '68 Camaro running high 12's.
If I were to chose, 12-bolt design by Spicer, absorbs less power than the Ford 9 inch design.

A 8.5 Chevrolet 10 bolt out of 1973-4 Nova will work also. I have a 1979 Z-28 RS Camaro Pro-Touring Car .With a 377 cubic inch 500 HP supercharged small block Chevy. Super T-10 four speed with a 8.5 10 bolt .With a 8.5 10 bolt .Moroso " Brute Strength" "posi",Mosier 30 spline axles .Chevrolet 3.42 gears .and with a 26" tall tire I cruise at 2500 rpm at 60 MPH. And get around 20-5 MPG.
