Steering Box Help
Hey fellas, so I recently had my pressure line for my power steering system break on me (up by the pump, it was kind of old) so I need to change it. I want to make it into AN fittings and braided hose. Only thing is, I'm not sure what the threads on the box are. If they are metric or not because I've heard both ways. The casting number on the box is 7826692. When I took the old line off on the pressure port on the box, it was a flare with an O-Ring. I don't know what the splines are, and really don't want to take it apart if I don't have to. I'm just looking to see what fittings I need to get. Thanks for the help.

Just wondering if you ever resolved the issue of the thread? IIRC, early Camaros have SAE fittings, and later boxes have metric. Depends if your steering box was upgraded to a later model one like the IROC box (metric) or one of the other compatible boxes like a Mid-90's Jeep Grand Cherokee box (also metric). Pretty sure the metric sizes are 15mm 1.5 and 18mm 1.5 on the box. If the ps pump is OEM it's probably SAE also.
I picked up a '96 JGC box and will swap it with my OEM box as soon as I get the correct rag joint and adapter fittings for the two lines. I can't stand driving the car with the current no effort power steering LOL.
