Battery going dead
I have a 68 Camaro with a new battery and when i leave the ground cable hooked up for a day or so my batt. goes dead. Charging system is working as i checked it with my volt meter. Brake lights switch is working and dome light is is working. Any ideas on what may be drawing my amps and how to check it ? Could it be a shorted out cell in the batt. and get it load tested ?
Thanks

disconnect the neg cable, put a test light between the bat. and cable ,if the test light lights uo u have a drw. now pull one ufse at a time till test light goes out. when you locate the fuse ,see whats on that cicuit. replace fuse and disconnect each component 1 at a time till light goes out.that component is causing the draw.you may want too check alt. to see if it is causing a draw

I was going to most , Glovebox light, trunk light or Lighter element. That would account for about 90% of the drain overnite issues I get.
