Looking to purchase 69 Camaro - Australia
Hi All,
My first post!
My name is Dave and I'm from Australia.
I'm looking to buy a 69 Camaro.
Doesn't have to be showroom quality but a solid weekend cruiser.
Would like to have something other than standard base body, a SS or Z28 or something X code.. Doesn't have to be numbers matching, just so its a little special..
I found this one for sale:
http://grautogallery.com/vehicles/4055/1969-chevrolet-camaro-z-28
I decoded the vin:
Yes not numbers matching motor and interior trim (except seats) changed to all black.
Also here is an appraisal report
Can members kindly share their thoughts on:
1. Price Point
2. Condition
3. Additional money that should be spent on her.
Many thanks in advance
Dave

Nice Camaro, but,
Transmission crossmember in backwards - shifter holes (3) should be on drvr side.
Six leaf rear springs and non-OE shock plates - should be only five leaves.
Rear pass axle tube should be coded BU (3.73) or BV (4.10).
White ivory/plastic shift **** - should be chrome since pattern is on the console plate - aftermarket shifter.
Should not have Z/28 emblem on dash.
AIR pump and rest of the system removed.
Rear stripes do not go up the rear panel far enough - should be halfway.
Not a '69 brake master cylinder.
Where are the third set of rear seat belts?
And I think, if grille emblem is present, then no fender emblems, and vice versa.
But for $40K USD, not bad, good luck.
I'm sure other members with more knowledge will submit their thoughts and sightings.

First welcome to the site.
That is a nice looking car. Body, interior looks nice, the underside needs some attention and I'd want to know more about the drivetrain.
Hate the Z emblem on the dash pad and make sure for that price tag they get you a switch **** of the wipers.
Who contracted the appraiser to look at the car?
That's going to cost you more than a few pints to have that shipped down under!
Cheers
Bruce

Nice looking car, and not a bad price, if it's as nice as it looks. It would be worth a bit more if it had the matching numbers engine. They should have done some undercarriage detailing though, a little bit can go a long way. Z/28 emblems are right, one on the grille and one on each front fender.
