How do I crank the engine manually?? (1968 rs)
The crankshaft is really low on the engine and I don't see any bolt I can easily put a socket wrench on. How do I crank it manually? I need to do this because the car hasn't started for a long time and I have to put oil in each cylinder and then crank it by hand. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Use automatic trans fluid, not oil. It does a much better job at loosening stuck/frozen rings. And let the cylinders soak for a few days. The crank has a center bolt holding the harmonic dampener, but if the pistons are stuck, you could end up stripping out the bolt. Under normal (unstuck) circumstances, you can turn the engine over by that bolt. I just did this very same thing last year with my Vette engine that's been sitting for 20 years. I was able to work it free by turning the pulley by hand, but you may need some assistance with the belt as Gary suggested. If that doesn't work, remove the starter and use one of these: Flywheel Turner
Also be sure to put rags over the spark plug holes before you start turning. It's still going to be a mess, but the rags will keep the fluid from shooting out and messing up the entire engine compartment.
