Default Connecting aftermarket gauges w/ lighting to dimmer

I'm sick of having to turn on a flashlight to view my aftermarket temp/oil pressure gauge on the center console. Anyone have any insight into what wires or where to start with wiring these into the dimmer controlled lighting?

If you can find the hot wire when turning on the headlights you can run a wire to your new gauges and daisy chain to the next, then run a ground wire and daisy chain the ground. That what I did so when the lights come on the gauges do too. Do you have a wiring diagram of your car?

You might want to just tie them in to a hot or power and when you start the car the lights come on... In the center console it does not make much difference if the lights are on all the time...

I have the Chilton's manual, i'm assuming it has a wiring diagram. I will dig into wires maybe this weekend. The car has sat motionless for a month now, blew a head gasket somehow... definitely my own doing. got the heads checked out, new valves, surfaced, and put in valve seals (that were apparently non existent). got it all back together and the intake manifold had a small crack that opened up. I added a temp sender in the cylinder head to give me a better idea of temps in the engine but it drives me nuts not being able to read it at night even though I don't drive much at night. Thanks for the assistance

I take the gauge lamp leads and tie them together, if you have an electric temp gauge, then join this lamp lead to the temp gauge input power.
Now you have gauge lights with IGN switch power.

If you have a mechanical gauge, hook lamp lead to ACC spade on fuse panel.

If you actually want them on with the dash lights and dim with the dash lights, then hook them to the headlight switch. The dark green wire is the feed to the dash lights, and will dim them with the dash lights.
