1969 Camaro Swap

1969 Camaro Swap
I am in the market of buying my uncles 69 Camaro and I would like to do a Chevy 350 engine swap with 355hp output.
Since I am not too knowledgable about engine and tranny swaps, does anyone know if the GM T5 5 speed manual transmission will work with the Chevy ZZ4 engine? If not, do you guys know of any other 5 speed manual transmission that is compatible? Or better?
As is, the car has an automatic transmission with a 329 engine

Perhaps you meant it has a 327? Will the T5 work, yes. But, it's not the strongest of transmissions to use, which is why GM didn't put them on anything bigger than a 305. A Tremec TKO 500 or 600 would be a much better way to go. And for what it's worth, you can easily build the 327 to the h.p. specs you're looking at with the ZZ4 crate, and for less money. Not to mention, if the 327 is the original numbers matching engine, you do not want to get rid of it, otherwise you'll devalue the car.

Yes sorry, the engine right now is the original 327 with a 2 speed powerglide. Now I think I'm going to keep that 327 for a couple if years and eventually just bore it out to a 350 and change the components. So my question is now, will I be able to keep the original 2 speed powerglide if I were to turn the engine into a 350?

To answer your question, yes! The powerglide has been used for years in drag racing with some modifications to them. Unless you're putting a very high horsepower engine in (or it's time for a re-build), it will be fine.

The glide will handle more power then you could ever through at it. Have it rebuilt with some strong upgrades and then a trans brake and a high stall converter and you set to run with the big dogs. As for boring out the 327 to 350 that will never happen. You can stroke it to 350 but not bore it to 350.

Bikerboy, Your not able to "bore out" a 327 and make it a 350 because. A 327 and a 350 both have a 4" bore. If everything was the same between the 327 an the 350 {cam-heads-intake/carb-timing etc.} I don't think on the STREET you'd notice enough difference for the $ you'd spend. But if I was going to start fresh with another motor to simply replace the old one in your car now {327} I would go with the 350.
