Default 1969 406 header question...

I just finalized the purchase on my 69 today. It has a 406 engine and is sporting headers but they look terrible.I plan on replacing the complete exhaust system with Flowmasters and want to replace with new headers but not break the bank.I just want to find a set that will be a good fitment. Thanks

pasesetter long tubes 3 inches out seems to be the way to go ,almost anything ceramic will cost a few hundered more ,with mine the lt1 header actually works ok for now ,but I got from the headers back to redo my system ,I am thinking real loud race style jones will stop in the middle . or a set of cherry bombs set up like I have now going all the way back but closer to my body its to low right now.i would think you want ones made for a 69 ,sbc 350 should fit ok see what the other guys are running its the same block with mine I had to use for the 95 lt1 couse my steering linkage ,should not be an issue with your older car an much more room, most guys go with long tubes too there is tons of them on ebay for the 69 headmen is another one .if you just want non coated ones like 200.00 is average ,then cherry bombs are like 130.00 a set single chamber so one can put together a system without breaking the bank .if your doing it yourself too ,

alot of guys have them coated again if there not like $1000.00 like mine turned right away too but it dont matter to me unless one spends big money or has them coated again ,they all rust sooner or later ,its so expencive top have headers that wont turn after a year or sooner ,not worth it to me ,as long as the engine is clean ,i avoid rain helps alot for rust
