Arrow Twitching Oil Pressure Needle

Hey all, just a quick question to see if my thoughts were right. My oil pressure needle is twitching pretty bad. Jumping up and down like 10 psi either way. I figured it was just an oil sending unit.... Anyone else agree? Or does anyone else think it might be something else wrong?

yes it could be a bad connection, have/are you hearing any knocking or other noises, could also be a bearing,

A bearing in what? There are no other noises coming from the car.

Ya, I bought a new sensor.... but it looks like I am going to have to get to the back of the engine in order to put it in.... You know how hard it is to get back there, even with just a v6. Anyway thanks for the thought.

try to clean around the base of the sensor before you take it out. see what size the head is on the new sensor and if you can get/have a socket that fits, if so try and get the old one out with a rachet. mine is on the side of the block so i havent had the pleasure of changing one at the back of the itake. they are not on to tight so you should be able to get it off with a wrench or channel locks if you can get one in there.

Do you know if it is something that I can get to without moving the whole engine? can I just take off the intake and get to it?

I don't mean to highjack this thread, but my oil gauge has a similar effect. Idle is about 1/3 up from 0 and any throttle sends it up to bit over 1/2 total psi. Is that normal? Is my car going to explode? I don't want it to... I just waxed it :/

so your at the first mark at an idle and the second mark at throttle up. thats 20 to 40 pounds or there about and is quite normal for a higher milage motor.
