Sam, I just bought a SS and get the same message. What the owners manual says it is for best fuel economy but you can only do it after the transmission warms up. If you don't like doing it just give it a little more gas. It also only comes on at certain speed range. Hope this helped just read owners manual.

 

yeah just picked up my 2ss today, definatly has CAGS or whatever they are calling it these days, i may have to look into getting the tuning cables and software for this car now, i did a lot of tunercats tuning on my old street/strip 94z28, if you can find a local tuner who can work on the 2010 camaro they should be able to do the ECM cags elimination for $15 or so, it is just as simple as unchecking a box, maybe a 30 second job, i'd rather do that then put in a resistor especially if you are still getting the 1-4 indication on the dash, might as well have the computer work correctly for cheaper, and while you are at it have them make a few more tweaks while they are in there

 

I have a 2010 and read about the 1-4, but have not yet experienced it. That being said I have only had the car for 2 weeks.

 

I have to get a skip shift eliminator for my ride too! It's a real PITA when it decides to try to save you some fuel! LOL Probably the biggest complaint I have about the car.

 

If you are planning on getting a tuner, just go that route even though the eliminators are only ~$20. I finally got the Diablo and took the SLP eliminator off and gave it away. Like stated above with it tuned out you dont get the message on the DIC anymore either.
